Wordpress vs. Posterous

Today marked a great day in my personal blogging life. Posterous just released a new feature which allows you to add custom HTML & CSS as well as pick themes and use tumblr themes for your blog. I have had a personal blog of my own for a while (which has sense moved into a new domain http://blogof.thechadengle.com ).
"I am thinking of moving my posterous to that domain and replacing my personal Wordpress for good".

 Why?
Well posterous does an amazing job of letting you send emails to the service and doing all the hardwork for you. I have apps on my iPhone and in firefox that let me send things with one click or a couple finger flicks. This makes my updating effortless and more frequent because it's so blatantly easy.

Commenting in posterous is awesome. You can respond and tweet the link to it & you can also post to Facebook. I know Wordpress can do these things but these come standard on Posterous & posterous just seems to damn easy....

 Final Thoughts
I am going to blog on how this goes. But, I see the face of blogging as we know it being changed today.

What are the iPhone apps that you use with posterous? Is it just the picterous app, is there an app to post written content too?

I use my email, I also use Newsstand to tweet links from G-Reader and I use picterous. I also use Posterous to host images from Tweetie.

Hey Chad,
that really look promising. Thanks for the infos. but i never ever would give up my own server hosted blog. I have seen it before: Services close down and then people are fu/&ed. As long as it is no important stuff you write on an external hosted service it is ok ... but ... :)

@sharebrain Well I backed it all up and I have it saved so.... we will see. I know what you mean about not giving up your own hosted one either. However people have used tumblr as a stand alone aggregator/blog so I guess we will see how this turns out for me. (its kind of scary though)
